What is Seborrheic Dermatitis or Cradle Cap
Cradle cap, the common term for infantile seborrheic dermatitis, causes scaly patches on a baby’s scalp. Though cradle cap isn’t serious, it can cause thick crusting and white or yellow scales.
- Common on scalp, eyebrows, ears, diaper area & in skin folds
- Affected regions may also develop fissures, weeping & maceration
- May persist until 1 year of age
- Specific cause unknown
